Hope you and your family are doing well. Last few months have been stressful and challenging for all of us in our professional and personal lives. As someone had well written in one of the social media posts “We are not in the same boat, We are in the same storm“.

In a crisis, the plastic professionals and the industry always rise to mitigate the impact, in the current scenario, we have seen the importance of plastic in healthcare. To cite a few examples i.e. PPE, Mask, testing vials, respirator tubes, plasma bags, etc.. are all made of polymers. It goes beyond that, where plastic played an important role in sanitizer packs, hand wash bottles, take-home food containers, frozen food packs, etc…

This issue covers interview from Mr. Subodh Kumar, Executive Director - IOCL, whereby he shares his thoughts on the petrochemical industry as well as the importance of plastics in growing the economy, an article on application of plastics in healthcare and the importance of the industry to step up and interesting articles on sustainability and process improvement in plastics. We have introduced a special column on Medical Plastics written by eminent industry expert Mr. D.L Pandya.

The June – July upcoming issue would be the annual special issue covering Recycling & Sustainability concurring with the World Environment Day.
